Well the sun is out and that helps, but to have an enjoyable time it’s just important to be in the right environment. The Potters Arms in Burgess Hill delivers exactly that! The atmosphere for a family pub is extraordinary in as much as it caters for everyone. From bikers to families, this boozer has given Burgess Hill a life line and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to Joe and his team, if you want football, DJ’s & live bands this pub delivers it! Plus the staff like Chester, Annie & Shannon go beyond to make your visit memorable for the right reasons - trust me and you will be pleased you read this. Undoubtedly it’s the best run pub in town. Loads of tables outside, a huge screen and great burger menu! Plus lovely helpful staff (thank you Jacqui) and live jazz every Thursday night. We recently visited for my daughter’s 18th birthday and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The manager (Joe) was incredibly helpful beforehand, talking me through all our options, whether we wanted catering or a separate room. Because we were a smaller group and it was a beautiful hot day, we decided to sit outside. He very kindly reserved us a lovely, dedicated spot in the garden. The outdoor area is brilliant! It had comfortable sun chairs, a large garden for the kids to run around in down the back, and even a table football game that kept the younger ones thoroughly entertained. (They also have a pool table and darts inside, which is a great touch). We ordered food on what was a busy Bank Holiday Monday. Most of us had burgers and fries or loaded fries, and everything was delicious. Crucially, I have three very fussy family members in the group, and all three found something they loved and completely finished their meals! The staff were amazing. Two of the team behind the bar, Jade and Daniel, were absolutely brilliant, and the other staff members were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Family members who traveled quite a distance to celebrate with us couldn't stop praising how lovely the venue was. The vibe was so great that we’ve already been back on a Sunday! We sat in the garden again and tried the Taste of Yorkie wrap, which was amazing. This is a beautiful pub with a fantastic atmosphere. From booking the area to the day contact was great from Joe. We were lucky with the weather and the outdoor bar is a fantastic addition. Lots of people had food and the food was great and reasonably priced. Joe and his team are brilliant. Would highly recommend a visit here. I recently arranged a team event here and couldn’t have been happier with how everything went. Communication with the manager Joe was excellent from start to finish, and he was incredibly helpful and accommodating, adapting the buffet menu to suit our needs while ensuring there were plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options available. The food was excellent, and hiring the function room worked perfectly for our group. Having exclusive use of the pool table and our own cordoned-off garden area made the event feel really special. The whole pub refurbishment looks fantastic, creating a great atmosphere, and it was all excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout. Overall, it was a brilliant event and I heard lovely feedback from team members there about the venue. We held a big celebration event here in May . Joe and his team worked so hard on the day of the event event to make sure that everything ran smoothly . The Chef and all the bar staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming too ! Can’t wait to celebrate my next big event here in September ! Thanks Joe and team
